This is my first viola so I have no benchmark to compare it to. However, both I and my teacher consider the quiality/price ratio really high. The instrument itself has a suprisingly strong and velvet sound. Two weak points: the bow has curved after two month of playing and the rosin was cracked. Anyway, a very good deal I think.

I have been playing the viola for nearly 10 years now and I decided it was time to purchase one for myself. Since I am a student, I was looking for something of good quality but still affordable. After a lot of looking around and several hours of research, I decided to purchase the Cecilio CVA-500 from KK Music Store. It got here less than a week after I ordered it and the instrument was great. Not only does it look great, but it sounds great too. The rosin and set of strings provided are also of wonderful quality. My music teacher approves as well ;) This was a great investment, I highly recommend this website and this product to all :)

This is my first purchased viola, by the way.
Pros: -The instrument looks beautiful, feels smooth, and produces a clear tone.
- The outfit is very nicely presented. It is obvious that someone took great care in making sure the outfit stays safe from potential shipping damages.
- The Kyoto style case is made of fine material, free of any damages, and is very light.
- The metrenome/tuner that may come with the outfit is very useful with many functions. It's much better than the old one i've had and is nearly the same price (although it comes free with this outfit).
- Even though I had read reviews that said the rosin is terrible, the rosin that came with my outfit is perfect. It's not the same as the one shown in the picture. It may have changed since that rosin may be the badly reviewed one.
- There is a heart inside the case where the base of the viola's back would rest :)
Cons: -The bow is dirty, and several hairs were broken when I first opened it. It looks used. I'

Can't believe this viola has not been reviewed yet. For those parents who are looking for a quality viola and are still unsure as to which one of the many reletivly inexpensive instruments available on line this one has been ACCEPTED and APPROVED by my daughters instructor. We've been renting for 4 years and decided to finally purchase and the instructor AGREED that it PLAYS NICE and was a fine instrument. PS, It looks good too. End your eBay search with this one here except buy it on eBay.
